How To Fold A Washcloth Bunny

Washcloths are such a quick and easy thing to whip up and a great way to practice stitches. They also make great gifts for many occasions.

With Easter coming up, here’s a fun way to package them for your spring markets or Easter baskets. The best part about this tutorial is that there are no special / complicated folds or tricks to make this washcloth bunny. All you need to know is how to roll and tie a basic bow.

How to Fold A Washcloth Bunny

All you need to make these bunnies are a washcloth and a ribbon or length of crochet chain about 15 inches (cm) long.

This will work with any sized washcloth, it just needs to be square. The bigger the washcloth, the bigger your finished bunny will be.

The one I’ll be using for this tutorial is the Hurdle Stitch Diagonal Dishcloth (one of my favorite washcloth / dishcloth patterns) made in Peaches & Crème’s Denim. For reference, this dishcloth measures 9×9 inches.

Starting in one corner, roll somewhat tightly on the diagonal to the opposite corner.

Fold this roll evenly in half and hold. I like to have the point facing up when I fold, it creates a kind of tail when it’s tied.

With your ribbon or chain, tie tightly (this cinches it and created the look of the bunny) around the middle and tie a bow.

Pretty cute right? Such a cute and easy way to make your washcloths festive!
I also created this short IG reel if (like me) you need to see it in motion.

If you used ribbon, snip the ends off the ribbon at an angle.
There you have it, a simple quick way to make your washcloths festive. These make a perfect gift paired with a nice bar of soap and maybe a bath bomb.  These would also be cute as part of a baby shower gift.
