May Progress – 2020 Goals
11.5 weeks into this pandemic shutdown and it’s almost starting to feel normal. I definitely miss symphony rehearsals and the children in the nursery I was volunteering at, but the boredom is slightly less. Was it just me, or did May fell short compared to March & April?
I’ve made progress on some of my goals, and have some more goals in mind for after I complete these goals.
Knit a sweater – Completed April 1st
Knit one lace something – In progress
I’m currently on chart 5 of Vernal Equinox Shawl Surprise (free pattern). It’s a huge shawl, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like fully blocked.
Use stash yarn before buying new yarn
For the most part I’ve been good about this. I did buy a ball of cotton yarn because I was out of cotton yarn, and I needed it for a project but other than that I’ve been good about this one. There are a few skeins of indie dyed yarns I’ve been looking at though.
Finish a pair of socks – In hibernation
I’ve decided to hibernate this one.
Update blog more
I’m getting better at actually writing things down when I work on a project. I’ve got some exciting patterns + projects to share with you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Update Instagram more
Still trying to improve on this.
Non-crafty Goals:
Practice more
The lack of symphony music to work on has made this less interesting, right now I’m just enough to maintain fitness and maintain finger calluses.
Memorize a concerto
I’m still working on the first movement of Bach’s Concerto in A minor (BWV 1041). I’ve been listening to different versions and have memorized most of the first page.
Learn a language
Still maintaining my streak on Duolingo.
That’s it for this month’s 2020 goal update. Be sure to follow @yarnbending on Instagram to stay up to date on what I’m working on and get sneak peeks of upcoming patterns.
