Welcome to Yarnbending!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved anything creative. I taught myself to crochet at the age of 5, followed by sewing at age 9, and knitting at age 10. In late 2015 I started to design my own patterns and I thought about starting a blog. In early 2016 I published my first pattern and have kept going ever since.

Why Yarnbending?
I named my site Yarnbending after Avatar: The Last Airbender, a show that I’ve watched for almost as long as I’ve been crocheting. The ability to turn simple things like yarn into elaborate items reminded me of the bending of the elements on the show.

When I’m not creating, I play in the 1st violin section of a local symphony, volunteer in a refugee program, and spend time with my 2 dogs Wishbone & Lego.
