Preemie Baby Dress
A few months ago I made a preemie dress out an old McCall’s pattern my Grandmother gave me. After finishing it, I realized something was missing and made this edging to go with it. The finished dress loos like a Victorian era christening gown.
You will need:
Cotton crochet thread
1.15-1.25 mm crochet hook
Sewing machine with a thicker needle.
Baby dress
Glossary:
ch = chain sc = single crochet dc = double crochet
Crochet Edge:
Before you start crocheting, you need to poke holes in your fabric for the hook to go through. To do this, run your fabric through a sewing machine without any sewing thread. (You could also use a skip blade and a self-healing mat to make the holes.)
Row 1: Join thread in one of the holes, place one sc in each hole around edge of fabric, join with a slip stitch to first sc.
Row 2: *Skip next stitch, slip stitch in next stitch, ch 3, 2 dc in same stitch as ch 3* repeat from *to* around.
I will try to take some photos of the finished dress soon!
This would also be pretty with medium weight yarn for a baby blanket.
