Leotard Crochet Pattern For My Crochet Doll

My Crochet Doll

One of my favorite amigurumi crochet books is My Crochet Doll by Isabelle Kessedjian. I discovered it while browsing at Barnes & Noble and immediately fell in love with all the cute designs for the dolls and their clothes. Because you’re never too old to love dolls! The only thing you have to remember is that the book is written in British terminology, not U.S. terminology.

To date I have made 4 dolls, all of the basic wardrobe, the Little Red Riding Hood outfit, the countryside outfit, the beach outfit, the pajamas, the rain shirt and pants, and even made a leotard for her (pattern below).

The leotard came about after a friend’s mom asked me to make a doll + clothes for her daughter for Christmas. Her daughter is a gymnast, so I decided to come up with a little leotard pattern for her doll to match.

Note; this pattern can be made with any hook and yarn. Just be sure to match the hook and yarn to the yarn that you used for your doll.

I used Red Heart Super Saver in Sunset with a G/4.5mm crochet hook (Boye Ergonomic hook).

ch = chain   sc = single crochet   sl-st = slip stitch

Add this pattern to your Ravelry queue

Follow the instructions for the underwear from the basic wardrobe part of the book.

Sew the underwear at the sides.

Rnd 1: Join yarn at the top of the underwear and sc in around top of underwear, do not join.

Rnds 2-8: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 9: Ch 10, skip 4 sc, 1 sc in each of next 13 single crochet, ch 10 skip 4 sc, 1 sc in each of next 14 single crochet, sl-st in next st.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
